Details
Born on 27 November 1910 at Heilbron, Orange Free State, he was educated at St Andrew's College, Grahamstown and the Christian Brothers College, Pretoria before entering St Bartholomew's Hospital Medical College in 1928. He qualified in 1934, served as a house surgeon at the Kent and Sussex Hospital, Tunbridge Wells and the Royal North Staffs Infirmary, and then returned to South Africa, where he practised at Rondebosch, Cape Town for the rest of his life. He died in 1963 aged 52, and was survived by his wife.
