Details
Born on 26 August 1900 he received his medical education at St Bartholomew's Hospital, where he qualified in 1923 and held appointments as house surgeon and senior resident, and he was also senior house surgeon at Lincoln County Hospital. He then went to the Radium Institute where in 1931 he became surgeon and assistant director. In 1939 he transferred to Mount Vernon Hospital, Northwood as a member of the Emergency Medical Service, remaining there after the war and becoming senior surgeon, which position he held at the time of his death. He was also surgeon to Napsbury and Hill End Hospitals, and a member of the Harefield and Northwood Group Management Committee. He died suddenly at his home in Northwood on 12 September 1963 survived by his wife Joan and by three sons and a married daughter.
