Details
Born at York on 14 February 1869 the son of Henry Steward, he was educated at Leeds Medical School and St Bartholomew's Hospital, London. He was house surgeon at the Leeds General Infirmary in 1895 and resident ophthalmic officer 1896-98. He practised as an ophthalmologist and laryngologist at Harrogate, where he was surgeon to the ear nose and throat departments of the Infirmary. He died at Elleray Bank, Windermere on 10 January 1954, aged 84.
