Details
Rothwell qualified in New Zealand in 1933. Towards the end of the second world war he took the Edinburgh Fellowship in 1944 and the English Fellowship in 1945, having served as surgeon at the Emergency Medical Service Northern Hospital at Winchmore Hill. After serving as assistant surgeon to outpatients at the London Hospital, he practised for a time at Bridgwater, Somerset, where he was surgeon to the District Hospital. During the 1950s he moved to Southport, Lancashire, where he was assistant surgeon to the Infirmary. He later took an appointment at Kuwait on the Persian Gulf, where he died on 14 November 1969 in his late fifties. Publication: Branchial Fistulae. *Brit med J* 1949, 2, 1025.
