Details
Educated at University College Hospital, London, he was a demonstrator of anatomy in the medical school and a house physician in the Hospital, after qualifying with the Conjoint Diploma in 1907. He took the Fellowship in 1909 and was appointed senior house surgeon at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital. Rooke settled in practice in the Bournemouth area, and became surgeon to the Douglas House Hospital, Southbourne, and consulting surgeon to the Royal Victoria and West Hants Hospital, Milford-on-Sea, the Milford Memorial Hospital and the Victoria Hospital, Wimbome. In retirement he lived at 1 Partridge Drive, Lilliput, Poole, Dorset, where he died on 26 February 1966, aged about eighty and survived by his wife and their three sons.
