Details
Lindsay Sangster Rogers of Te Awamutu, New Zealand, studied at Otago University and gained MB ChB in 1927. He also held a Travelling Medical Scholarship in 1927 in New Zealand. He won a Senior Medal in surgery, and medals in medicine, gynaecology and obstetrics. He was resident surgical officer at the Cancer and Royal Northern Hospitals. In 1929 he gained the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and in 1931 the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 1936. In 1940 he joined the Royal Army Medical Corps as a surgeon specialist and served in Czechoslovakia. In 1946 he received the MBE. After the war he returned to New Zealand and remained there until 1947 when he became Professor of Surgery at the Royal School of Medicine in Baghdad in Iraq.
