Details
Cecil Charles Coghlan of Point Piper, Sydney trained at Sydney University and gained MB, ChM in 1915. His training hospital was the Sydney Hospital. Later he was at the Women's Hospital, the Sydney Hospital and St Vincent's Hospital, Sydney. He served in the first world war from 1915-18 and was in the RAMC and the Merchant Navy. He was a member of the Australian Medical Association. In 1923 he gained the DGO in Dublin; in 1925 he obtained the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England; in 1932 the Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland, and in 1928 the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He retired from practice in 1967. He died on January 1973. He had two sons and three daughters. Publications: Effect of war on male sterility. *J Mt Sinai Hosp, NY * 1947,14, 3.
