Details
Qualifying from Edinburgh University in 1902, Collins seems to have practised abroad, probably in South Africa. He was in England for some years from 1910 when he took the Conjoint Diploma, and proceeded to the Diploma in Public Health in 1914 and the Fellowship in 1915. After the first world war he took the Membership of the Royal College of Physicians of London in 1921 and the Diploma in Ophthalmic Medicine and Surgery in 1922. He made his subsequent career in surgical practice in Hattingspruit, Natal, South Africa, where he died on 4 November 1972 aged about ninety-two.
