Details
Kumar Kanti Ghosh was born in India and received his medical education at the Medical College, Calcutta. He obtained the FRCS in 1950 and was appointed professor and director of surgery at the Medical College. He was one of the pioneers of modern surgery in Calcutta, and was an extremely popular teacher in his field of surgery, training a great number of students, many of whom occupy important positions in the surgical world. He was universally admired and loved by his colleagues, students, and patients for his qualities of head and heart. He died on 24 August 1976.
