Details
John Matthias Joseph Jens studied medicine in Adelaide and qualified MB BS in 1934. He passed the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1940 and was a surgeon with the EMS. He served in the Royal Navy as a Lieutenant-Commander and was a temporary Major in the Australian Imperial Force at 115 Australian General Hospital from 1940 to 1946. He was a member of the AMA. He became surgeon to the St John of God Hospital, Ballarat, Victoria, and died on 13 September 1981.
