Brandur T Hermann Marteinsson graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1931. He joined the surgical staff at St Paul's Hospital, Vancouver, and then became clinical instructor at the University of British Columbia and a life member of the CMA. He died on 27 August 1981 aged 74, survived by his wife Gwen, daughters Ingunn, Emily and Kathie, his son Kritjan and his wife's children by a previous marriage, Leslie and Rhondda Porter.
