Details
Archibald Louis Percy Jeffery was educated at Merchant Taylors' School and St Thomas's Hospital, where he won the Beaney Scholarship in surgery and pathology in 1924. After qualifying both with the Conjoint Diploma and the London MB, BS, he obtained the Fellowship of the College and the MS in 1926, and in 1937 gained the London MD and the MRCP. After various house appointments at St Thomas's Hospital and Leicester Royal Infirmary and working for a time as clinical assistant at the British Red Cross Clinic for Rheumatism, he appears to have practised privately at Connaught Square, Marble Arch, and as surgeon to various organisations including the City of London Truss Society until his retirement in 1982. He died at Pagham, West Sussex, on 24 February 1987 in his 89th year.
