:
Mukul Krishna Karmakar qualified MB, BS Calcutta in 1964 and obtained his Fellowship in 1972. After house appointments at the General Hospital, Middlesborough, at the Kent and Canterbury Hospital and at Birkenhead General Hospital, he worked at the orthopaedic department at Reza Shah Kadir Hospital, Tehran in 1977, before becoming consultant specialist orthopaedic surgeon, Porcina Hospital, Rasht, Iran, in 1978.
He died at Calcutta on 6 June 1983.
