Details
Helen Patricia Kilburn qualified MB BS in Sydney in 1942 at the Brisbane General Hospital. She was appointed senior medical officer at the Innisfail District Hospital in Queensland in 1944. From there she moved to the Rachel Forster Hospital for Women and Children in Sydney where she was clinical assistant in gynaecology from 1948 to 1951. Moving to the United Kingdom she became clinical assistant in venereology to St Thomas's. Leaving London for Surrey, she became clinical assistant in orthopaedics for the St Helier Group of Hospitals. She was a member of the BMA and of the Medical Society for the Study of Venereal Disease. She retired to Rye in East Sussex and is thought to have died in early 1989.
