Details
Born in Keighley, Yorkshire, on 15 February 1915, the son of David Feather, a printer and bookbinder, David Feather was educated at the Keighley Trade and Grammar School until 1927, when he went to the Royal Masonic School at Bushey, Hertfordshire. He received his medical training at Leeds and did junior jobs at St James' University Hospital. He was in the territorial army at the outbreak of war and served throughout the war, reaching the rank of major, as a surgical specialist. He was surgeon at St James' Hospital, Leeds, until he retired in 1980. He married in 1940 and had two daughters. He died on 30 November 1994.
