Details
Born on 18 December 1912, Alfred Cavendish qualified at University College Hospital, and after junior posts joined the RAMC, where he became a surgical specialist with the rank of Major. After the war, he became chief assistant at the North Middlesex Hospital, before being appointed consultant surgeon to the Lewisham Hospital. He had a wide range of interests, including the organisation of hospitals and the provision of a service for major accidents. He died on 28 July 1999.
