Details
Born on 2 March 1914, Thomas Fenwick was the son of William Stephen Fenwick FRCS of Charing Cross Hospital. He was educated at Sherborne, and then went on to study at Cambridge and St Thomas's Hospital, representing each of these institutions at rugby and cricket. He did house jobs at St Thomas's, before joining the RAFVR. After the war, he was appointed RSO at Salisbury General Infirmary, from where he went as a senior registrar to Portsmouth. He was appointed as a consultant to the Portsmouth Group of Hospitals in 1952. He was a popular colleague and teacher. At the age of 60, he retired and took up raising quality beef cattle, supported by his wife, Eddie, and daughter. His hobbies included cabinet making, forestry, shooting and fishing. He died from heart failure on 1 March 2002. He had three grandchildren.
