Details
Horace Fleming qualified in Dublin in 1929 and specialised in surgery. He held house officer posts at Cheltenham General and was a resident surgical officer at Chesterfield and North Derbyshire Royal Hospital. He was appointed county surgeon in Enniskillen and was later director of the Erne Hospital. At one time he was in sole charge of medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, ear nose and throat surgery, as well as X-rays and dispensing. In addition, he had many outside interests: he was a member of the yacht and golf clubs, the amateur dramatic society, and was a keen fisherman and bridge player. He died on 12 June 1999.
