Details
Born 11 September 1928 the son of Gabriel Robin, a musician and Rita Gossman, Gordon Robin was educated at Hutcheson's Grammar School and the University of Glasgow. After house appointments he did his national service in the RAMC, serving in Malaya as a Major. He trained in orthopaedics under Sir Henry Osmond Clarke and Professor J I P James. He went to Israel and became Associate Professor of Orthopaedics at the Hadassah University and Hebrew University Medical School, Jerusalem. In 1957 he married Ms Drora Lifshitz, and had a daughter and son. His interests included music and tennis. He died on 12 October 1999.
