Po Yat Iu was a general surgeon in Kowloon, Hong Kong, China. He was born in 1930 or 1931, the son of Tak Lam Iu, an architect. He gained his FRCS in 1959.
In 1958 he married Yan-kit So, but their marriage was dissolved shortly afterwards. She went on to become a renowned food scholar and cookery writer.
Po Yat Iu died on 22 December 2015.
