Ahmed Nabeel Hassan was a general surgeon in Alexandria, Egypt. He was born in Alexandria on 8 December 1935, the son of Hassan Hassan, a businessman, and Dawlat Hassan née Darwich. He studied medicine at Alexandria University, qualifying in 1960.
He gained diplomas in general surgery from Cairo University in 1964 and Alexandria University in 1970, and his FRCS in 1976. He served in the Egyptian Army as a lieutenant colonel.
In 1968 he married Madiha Fahmy. They had two sons.
Ahmed Nabeel Hassan died on 1 April 2007. He was 71.
