Born at Axminster, where his father had a large practice. Both his father and mother belonged to old Devonshire families. Practised at Aylesbury, where he was Surgeon to the Buckinghamshire and Aylesbury Infirmary and to the Gaol. He died on or before June 21st, 1855.
