Born at Salisbury, the son of Captain Thomas Tatum, of the South Wales Militia, grandson of John Tatum, first Physician to the Salisbury Infirmary, and great-grandson of Thomas Tatum, MD, of Salisbury, who died at Mere in Wiltshire.
