Educated at St George’s Hospital. He was at one time Surgeon to the Lock Hospital, Manchester. He practised at Foxley House, Lymm, Cheshire, and died in London on July 27th, 1864. Publication: Brigham was author of a work on *Surgical and Medical Cases*, 1839.

Born at Manchester on March 16th, 1806, the son of Thomas Bellot, a surgeon practising in Oldham Street, and Jane Hale, daughter of Thomas Hale, of Darnhall, Cheshire. Was for many years Physician to the Bank of Ireland and to the Dublin Metropolitan Police. In his practice he devoted considerable attention to phthisis, and was the author of several much-read works on this subject. He founded, or helped to found, several hospitals such as the Dublin Fever Hospital

Was commissioned as Hospital Mate for General Service on July 24th, 1812, and when this designation ceased, at the end of April, 1813, became Hospital Assistant to the Forces. He was appointed Assistant Surgeon to the 72nd Regiment of Foot on June 3rd, 1813, served with the Cape Corps from June 25th

He was appointed Surgeon's Mate on the Hospital Staff, not attached to a regiment, on April 8th, 1794, and on June 16th, 1795, became Surgeon, without purchase, to the 5th Dragoon Guards. Practised at Durham in partnership with Edward Kane Jepson (qv), and was Surgeon to the Durham Infirmary. He died at 55 Old Elvet, Durham, on November 11th, 1858.
