The son of Thomas Martin (qv), surgeon, of Reigate. He entered the Bengal Army as Assistant Surgeon March 9th, 1839, was promoted Surgeon May 8th, 1853, and was at one time Professor of Ophthalmic Surgery at Calcutta Medical College. He died at 36 St Peter's Square, Hammersmith, on March 16th, 1879.
