Studied at St Bartholomew's Hospital and in Dublin. He practised at Ramsgate in partnership with Samuel Woodman (qv), was Surgeon to the Ramsgate Dispensary, and died at Ramsgate on December 1st, 1867.

Is said to have been a witness (he could not have been a qualified medical witness) at the trial in 1824 of John Thurtell (1794-1824), who murdered William Weare, solicitor, with whom he had gambled, at Gibbs Hill, Lane Road, Radlett, on the St Albans Road, and threw the body into a swamp two miles

The fifth son of John Eddison, of Gateford, Notts, who died in 1812. His father belonged to the Society of Friends. His mother, niece of Abraham Booth, Baptist minister, was left a widow with eight children under eleven years of age, but with remarkable energy she fitted them all to fill responsible
