Became a Surgeon in the Navy and was at one time Surgeon to St. Peter Port Hospital, Guernsey, and then Physician to St Peter Port Lunatic Asylum. He was also Admiralty Surgeon and Agent. He died on September 10th, 1860, at Le Manoir, Lefebre Street, Guernsey.

Articled to John Moore at Bolton, and then studied at St Bartholomew's Hospital. From 1825-1831 he was House Surgeon at the Bolton Dispensary, on the termination of which post he received a gratuity and a warm vote of thanks from the Committee.
