Details:
Born about 1887, he was educated at University College Hospital where he was Atkinson Morley surgical scholar and won University medals in several subjects, scientific and clinical. He held resident posts there and at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital, but went to Sydney in 1915. He was commissioned in the Australian Army Medical Corps, and later became surgeon to the Southern Hospital, Prince Henry Hospital, the Coast Hospital and the Masonic Hospital, among other appointments. He practised at 229 Macquarie Street. He was a Fellow of the Society for the Advancement of Gastro-enterology, and a vice-president of the section of surgery at the annual meeting of the BMA at Plymouth (England) in 1938. He published two handbooks for nurses which ran through several editions, and was a regular contributor to the *Australian Medical Gazette* and the *Medical Journal of Australia*. He died at Sydney on 9 September 1957.
