Details:
Little is known of the career of Richard Neville Austin. He worked in England as orthopaedic registrar at St Bartholomew's Hospital and as a house surgeon at Northampton General Hospital. He was a member of the British Medical Association and became a Fellow of the College in 1959. It is probable that he was born in New Zealand and worked for his passage as he was, at some time, surgeon to the Canadian Pacific Steamship Company and the New Zealand Shipping Company.
He was practising in New Zealand in the 1970's and died in the district of Tauranga on 19 January 1984.
