Tarunda Kesara Goonatillake, the son of Abhram Perera Goonatillake, a planter, was born on 14 July 1921 in Sri Lanka. He was educated at Royal College, Colombo, and graduated from the University of Ceylon in 1950. Unfortunately no details are available of his appointments here or in his own country. He married Kusuma Ranasinghe in 1950 and they had one daughter, Tamara. He is reported to have died on 26 August 1983, after a long illness, and was survived by his wife and daughter.
