After serving in the Australian Imperial Forces from 1942 to 1966, Donald Norman Leckie qualified MB BS at Sydney in 1953. From that time he held a number of posts at the Balmain District Hospital, Sydney, including that of medical superintendent, until he came to Britain in 1957. Here he held posts at the General Hospital, Romford, King George Hospital, Ilford and Leicester General Hospital, while studying for and obtaining his Fellowship. Returning to Australia he appears to have spent the rest of his life as Surgeon to the Balmain Hospital. His death was reported to the College in May 1990, but as his name is omitted from the *Medical Directory of Australia* for 1990, the preface of which is dated January 1990, it can be inferred that he died in 1989.
