Details:
De Silva received his medical education at the University of Colombo Faculty of Medicine, qualifying MB BS Ceylon in 1965. He came to Britain in 1967 and worked at the Brook General Hospital, Shooters Hill, and gained both the English and the Edinburgh Fellowship in 1973. In 1977 he obtained a licence to practise in the United States, and worked in Baltimore, Maryland. He died on 14 November 1992 at Clarksville, Maryland.
