Details:
Ian Pike qualified in Sydney in 1974, where he did house appointments at the Royal North Shore Hospital before becoming resident medical officer at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. In 1976 he went to England, where he was registrar at the Radcliffe Infirmary Oxford for two years, after which he passed the FRCS and went on to the Royal Northern Infirmary in Inverness, the Royal Newcastle Hospital and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in London. He returned to Albury, New South Wales, to practice orthopaedics in 1984. Tragically, he and his wife Jane Pike, also a doctor, were killed in a light aircraft accident in April 1998.
