Details
Born on November 16th, 1781, and served as Surgeon on Board HMS *Fame* (1804-1805). He entered the Bengal Army on September 18th, 1806, was promoted Surgeon on November 25th, 1818, and Superintending Surgeon on July 13th, 1837. He was one of the twenty-nine members of the IMS to be elected a Fellow on August 26th, 1844. He was a Member of the Medical Board of Bengal, and retired on April 1st, 1845. He then lived at Prospect Place, Maida Hill, London, W, and died on March 17th, 1846. [His name also appears as MELLIS.]
