Details
Alan Francis Goode was born on 8 May 1908. He studied medicine at Birmingham University and trained at the Middlesex and St Bartholomew’s Hospitals. After working as an assistant in the surgical unit at the Welsh National School of Medicine and as a surgical registrar at the General Hospital in Birmingham, he passed the fellowship of the college in 1934 and served in the RAMC as a surgical specialist during the second world war. For many years after the war he worked as a general practitioner in Alton, Hampshire, retiring in the early 1970’s. He died in November 1995.
