Kenneth Carroll was born in Australia and studied medicine at Queensland University, qualifying MB, BS in 1956. After house jobs at Gympie General Hospital, he came to the UK and worked at the Gravesend and North Kent Hospital in Gravesend. He became a senior surgical registrar at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London and passed the fellowship of the college and of the Edinburgh college in 1962. A member of the BMA, he was also a member of the Australian Medical Association. At some point Carroll returned to practice in Queensland and he died in Australia on 1 August 2018.
