Details
Kershaw Burjor Khambatta studied medicine at Grant Medical College in Bombay, qualifying MB, BS in 1942. After working as a house surgeon at the Sir J. J. Hospital he travelled to the UK to study for the fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, passing in 1956, and of the college which he passed in 1962. He worked at the General Hospital in Walsall and Chase Farm Hospital in Enfield. Returning to Pakistan, he worked at various hospitals and also ran a free clinic for the poor – he was even known to slip money under the pillows of impecunious patients. He died on 21 May 2019 aged 93 and was survived by his wife Mehroo and children Darius, Cherazad, Rustom and Zinaida.
