Robert Stewart McKim was born on 30 April 1930, qualified MB, BChir from Cambridge University in 1954 and passed the fellowship of the college in 1961. He lived in Bath and was a consultant ear, nose and throat surgeon to the Bath Area Health Authority.
He died on 19 July 2019 aged 89 years.
