Frederick George Osborne Burrows was a consultant radiologist for Birmingham Central Health District. He was born in Stranorlar, County Donegal, Ireland in 1924. He studied medicine at Trinity College Dublin and qualified in 1949. He gained his FRCS in 1954 and then focused on radiology. Prior to his consultant appointment he was a registrar and senior registrar in radiology at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital, a registrar in radiology for the United Birmingham Hospitals and a senior registrar in radiodiagnostics for the Birmingham Regional Hospital Board. He was a fellow of the Faculty of Radiologists and a member of the European Society of Paediatric Radiologists. He wrote papers on diagnostic radiology. In 1955 he married Patricia Keeley. In his retirement he painted oil and watercolour paintings. Burrows died on 29 December 2019 in Birmingham. He was 95.
