Details
Reginald Hollows was a surgeon at Orilla Memorial and Bracebridge Memorial hospitals, Ontario, Canada. He was born on 20 September 1919 in Bolton, Lancashire. His father was William Sharples Hollows; his mother was Elsie Hollows née Kirk. In the 1939 England and Wales Register he was listed as being a bank clerk in Bolton. He studied medicine at King’s College and Charing Cross Hospital Medical School and qualified in 1946. He was a house surgeon and resident obstetric officer at Charing Cross Hospital, a house surgeon at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and then a demonstrator in anatomy at Charing Cross Hospital. He gained his FRCS in 1951. In the early 1950s he moved to Moosejaw, Saskatchewan, Canada. He was later a surgeon at Orilla Memorial Hospital and Bracebridge Memorial Hospital, Ontario. He was married to Sharon (née Church). Hollows died on 7 December 1993 at the age of 74.
