Details
Eric Brian Campbell Cliff was a surgeon commander in the Royal Navy. He was born on 9 September 1920 in St Albans, Hertfordshire, the son of Eric Francis Cliff and Mima Anderson Cliff née Roulston. He joined the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve’s dental service in 1943 as a surgeon lieutenant during the Second World War and stayed with the Royal Navy, becoming a surgeon commander in 1956. At the Royal College of Surgeons of England, he was the Joseph Henry lecturer in 1950 and gained his FDSRCS in 1952. In 1964 he was awarded an OBE. Cliff died on 9 October 2002 in Suffolk. He was 82.
