Donald George Gould was a consultant orthodontist in Nottingham and Derby. He was born in 1936 in Barnet, the elder son of George Edward Gould. His mother’s maiden name was Roberts. He studied dentistry in London and qualified in 1953. He subsequently gained his diploma in orthodontics in 1956 and his fellowship of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1958. He married Joan Mary Minall in 1960. Predeceased by his wife in 2007, he died on 4 July 2013. He was survived by their children Matthew, Claire, Alice and Tom, and grandchildren.
