Details
David Selwyn trained as a dental surgeon and later became an Anglican priest. He was born on 21 December 1941 at New Plymouth, Taranaki, New Zealand. He gained his FDSRCS in 1969 and practised as a dentist for 17 years. He then trained as a priest and was a curate at Pāuatahanui. In December 1987 he became vicar of St Hilda’s Anglican Church at Upper Hutt. He left in 1993. He later lived in Havelock North. He was married to Elizabeth ‘Ann’ Dinniss, who was also a dental surgeon. They had two children, Andrew and Heather, and three grandchildren. Selwyn died on 16 July 2008. He was 66.
