Practised in Northampton, where for twenty-nine years he was Surgeon to the General Infirmary until failing health, a few weeks before his death, compelled his resignation and he was succeeded by James Marsh (q.v.). He was also Surgeon to the Royal Victoria Dispensary, in which he was followed by his son, William Percival, junr. He died at Northampton on Nov 13th, 1849.
