Details
Peter Early was an orthopaedic surgeon. Born on 23 April 1918, he studied medicine at Cambridge University and the London Hospital and passed his MB, BChir in 1943. He worked at various hospitals in London, passing the College fellowship in 1954, before becoming an orthopaedic research fellow at the Manchester Royal Infirmary between 1956 and 1958. Later work followed as a senior research officer for the artificial Limb and Appliance Service of the DHSS in Manchester. A fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine and of the British Orthopaedic Association, he contributed to various journals many papers on surgery, orthopaedics and prosthetics. He was also medical officer to the Friends Ambulance Unit. When he retired he was living in Cheadle Hulme, Cheshire and a relative notified the College that he had died in 2005.
