At the time of his death Gepp was senior MSA, having taken his diploma as long before as 1791. For fifty-seven years he had been surgeon to the Gaol and House of Correction at Chelmsford and Springfield. He was one of the first surgeons to be elected a Fellow, and he died at Chelmsford on December 11th, 1856.
