Details
Studied at St Thomas's Hospital, and practised, first at 115 Holborn Hill, then at 10 Russell Square, London. He was for fifty years Surgeon to Newgate Prison, also for a time Medical Officer to the Western City Dispensary, to the Holborn Union, and to the West Central District Post Office. After his retirement he died suddenly 'from natural causes' on the footway of Devonshire Street, Queen Square, on October 20th, 1892. Publications: "A Case of Disease of the Aorta with Fits and a very Slow Pulse." - *Lond Med Gaz*, 1838, ns I, Oct, 122. "Cases of Labour requiring Craniotomy in Consequence of Fractured Pelvis and Rickets." - *Lancet*, 1846, I, 647.
