Details
Born at Market Drayton, Shropshire, and studied at King's College and Hospital, where he was House Surgeon. He was then Resident Surgical Officer at the Birmingham General Hospital for five years; commenced practice at 47 Newhall Street, and became Surgeon to the Hospital, also Surgeon to the Children's Hospital. His abilities and character secured him an important position and practice until his health failed a few years before his death. He went on a voyage to the Cape, wintered at Cairo, then at Davos, and settled at Southborough, near Tunbridge Wells, where he died on September 10th, 1884.
