Details
Born on March 9th, 1788, and on November 12th, 1812, was gazetted Assistant Surgeon to the 29th Foot. He retired on half pay on June 22nd, 1820, and was struck off the half-pay list in 1841, when he had received no half pay for two years. On July 13th, 1822, he had joined the HEICS at Madras as Assistant Surgeon. He was gazetted Surgeon on February 1st, 1835, and retired on February 29th, 1848. He saw active service in the Peninsular War, and in the United States (1814). He died on February 21st, 1860, and is noted by Lieut-Colonel Crawford (*History of the Indian Medical Service*) as one of the twenty-nine officers of the Indian Medical Service elected Fellows on August 26th, 1844.
