Details
Albert Lawson Light was a consultant general surgeon in Wakefield and at Chapel Allerton Hospital, Leeds, and also a consultant surgeon to the Ministry of Social Security. He studied medicine at St Bartholomew's Medical School, gaining a distinction in his final MB BS examinations. Prior to his consultant appointment, he was a senior house officer at the Hospital for Women at Leeds, a resident surgical officer at Beckett Hospital, Barnsley, and then first assistant in surgery at the British Postgraduate Medical School in London and assistant surgeon at Hammersmith Hospital. He retired in September 1971, and died on 4 August 1992.
